The successful "Multi-Trauma Course" facilitated by Project Rozana at the Emergency Medicine Academy (EMA) in the Emergency Medicine Department, Tel Aviv Sourasky Medical Center provided training to ER/trauma staff from Al Makaased Hospital in East Jerusalem on various topics with an emphasis on teamwork and professional content. It aimed to achieve clinical excellence, optimal teamwork, and high standards of quality and safety of care.
The course targeted ER residents, nursing staff, and physician assistants working in an emergency department with 20 participants per course. The indirect beneficiaries of this course are patients arriving at the hospitals’ ER, which can lead to improved health services outcomes.
The course was delivered under the leadership of the trauma service at the hospital, and included lectures and simulations, dealing with blunt and penetrating trauma, pediatric trauma, e-FAST principles and urgent procedures workshops such as chest tube insertion, central line, bleeding control).
