The Women4Women cross-border healthcare system provides access to maternal and child healthcare for thousands of Palestinian women and children from rural communities in Area C of the West Bank, considered at risk due to limited access to healthcare.
In 2022, we launched Women4Women (W4W) together with Sheba Beyond and the Green Land Society for Health Development in Hebron. The partnership has trained and deployed a local multidisciplinary team of young women healthcare professionals to deliver primary and reproductive healthcare services in these underserved areas.
We use Israeli remote care technologies to bridge between the Sheba and W4W teams for regular training and clinical supervision, an innovative approach to improve healthcare access and quality. By removing financial, geographical, cultural, and political barriers to timely healthcare, this project empowers vulnerable women in the West Bank and contributes to the overall goal of improving healthcare access and equity for all individuals.
The team is both improving the physical and psychological health of these women and children, and helping alleviate some of the cultural and social barriers to healthcare.
Empowering local women healthcare professionals is crucial for sustainable and culturally sensitive healthcare delivery. Addressing the unique challenges faced by these communities, the Women4Women project is empowering their patients to make informed decisions about their health and the health of their children.
Cross-border cooperation and innovative technologies are being used to overcome barriers and make a positive impact on the poverty-stricken and severely underserved communities in these areas.
- Training a multidisciplinary team of young Palestinian women healthcare professionals, including a gynecologist, a GP, nurses, a midwife, a psychologist, a physiotherapist, and a nutritionist.
- Delivering primary and reproductive healthcare services to thousands of residents in six communities every week.
- Collecting rich cross-sectional data to refine the project and ensure it is meeting the needs of the communities, and sharing this data with regional health stakeholders to promote collaboration.
Join us in our mission to empower local women healthcare professionals and promote sustainable and culturally sensitive healthcare delivery. Together, we can make a difference in the lives of Palestinian women and their families.
